The Taiwan Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo “TECH WORLD”

The Taiwan Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo “TECH WORLD” is a stunning expression of sustainable architecture, blending landscape, light, and shadow into one poetic form. Designed by architects Chang Ma-Lung and Chen Yu-Lin, the pavilion highlights Taiwan’s innovative spirit through the use of environmentally friendly metal structures.
Inspired by the rolling mountain landscapes of Taiwan, the pavilion is one of the most distinctive at the Expo. A collaboration between MAYU Architects (Taiwan) and Azusa Sekkei (Japan), it reflects the Expo’s theme, “Designing the Future Society, Sharing a Better Life.”
The dynamic structure creates a delicate dialogue between technology and nature, where the undulating form and the play of light and shadow offer visitors a unique visual experience.
During the day, the metallic surface reflects sunlight in fluid, shifting patterns that evoke Taiwan’s natural beauty. As night falls, the softly illuminated pavilion glows like a shimmering mountain of light, mirroring the starry sky above.

This living artwork celebrates Taiwan’s landscape, culture, and collaborative spirit, symbolising the nation’s openness to the world and inspiring creativity, innovation, and sustainable possibilities for the future.
